Oxford Community Choir

About Us

Oxford Community Choir has been in existence for over 20 years. Originally started by Arne Richards in the 1990’s, the Choir’s Leader for many years was Sarah Wescott, who is well known in the Oxford area for leading a number of choirs. She retired from her role as choir leader in December 2019. Becki Reed then took over at the beginning of 2020 during the difficult period of Covid, and we managed to keep together as a choir by singing on line on a weekly basis. We thank Becki for pursuing this, but it did seem very odd singing to a PC screen every week!

Since the beginning of Autumn 2025, the choir leadership was taken over by Elena Harris.

We sometimes sing in the community, for example the Festival of Light and Christmas Market in Oxford, and members get invited to choir festivals throughout the year for those who wish to try something different. This year we are singing at the Oxford Botanic Garden Christmas Fair on Saturday 6th December.
